Hypnosis Comparison, PromFlasher versus DeProgramAll

These are the two files links on the Pony Hypno document as Reset Files, files intended to take away hypnosis effects.  Both are intended to be permanent removals of  hypnosis effects.  PROM Flasher is specifically aimed at Pony Hypno users, where as DeprogramAll is intended to be of even wider effectivness, removing hypnosis 'you might not even be aware of'.

I want to start by commenting I was surprised to find that the PROM Flasher file is intended to be semi-permanent.  It is not simply a way of getting out of a stuck hypnosis.  It is for removing the functioning of trigger associated with a given file, as well as the social effects.  You would, theoretically, have to restart from the beginning, but it would also allow you to start a different file with much less worry of EKP.

So, the PROM Flasher has a similar structure to other pony hypnosis files, using the same introduction and a lot of the same structure during the body.  It is something like the pony files in reverse; starts with the assumption that you are a pony at the moment, or very close to and aware of the hypnosis, then 'rebuilds' your human form'.

DeprogramAll has a very characteristic formula for EMG.  Three ideas repeated over and over for the lengthy introduction.  It then goes through all previous files and removes them in a safe fashion.  I would note, it has a few obvious recording mistakes, and there is a disconnect because it is obviously intended for EMG's files, and not for Pony Hypno.  That said, it is a ... calmer return than PROM.  But it still has that sticky EMG flavor, overusing "subservient" and "addicted".

Neither file should be used simply to remove a stuck hypnosis unless it is incredibly important.

The PROM file has a more specific purpose; take a pony, make them human.  Unfortunately, it is very specific in turning you back into a HUMAN, so the file will be less effective for tulpa without a human baseform, or hosts with heavily changed self-images.

The Deprogram file is of lower quality, but in any ways more useful because it is so broad.  It addressed pet mind transforms, animal (and therefore pony) transforms, and other type of hypnosis, each by name.

I would suggest that, should you fit the PROM files specifications, namely if you are under pony hypnosis and want to return to humanity, you should use it.  If you are trying to remove any other file, or if the PROM file doesn't work, then you should use DeprogramAll.

Finally, I wanted to say that I have about equal  reports of success from both files.

Hope to bring more content soon.  Fillyosopher.

How the mighty have fallen... or something like that.

I'm moving the majority of my content to tumblr.  The reason.

The Ask Button

and that is pretty much it.  Despite having plenty of ideas, I feel like I'm talking into a void here.  It is discouraging and killing any willingness to dedicate time to writing on my part.  For that reason, I'm moving myself to tumblr, and splitting up my content by interest.

Q&A7: Tulpa Voice, hypnosis tulpae, and iDoser

Another set of Questions from the IRC.  Enjoy

<+bedhead> How do I make [my tulpa's] voice distinct from mine?
<+Fillyosopher> First off, can you hear your own voice in your head?
<+bedhead> Yes.  It's how I read.
<+Fillyosopher> okay, the simplest way is make it higher pitched, then make a lower pitched version
<+Fillyosopher> so that the two are different.  ask questions in one voice, receive answer in another
<+bedhead> Okay. so I have trixie's voice and my voice in a lower pitch. The reason it feels like parroting, Is because it feels like it takes effort from me.
<+Fillyosopher> it takes effort from you, because you have to work to hear her, of course. If you didn't have to work to hear her, you'd hear her all the time! but for now, you still have to work, and that is okay.  Eventually you will get better at hearing and it won't be as much work
<+bedhead> Will it feel natural? Like hearing her in my head as if it was like someone speaking to me?
<@Xaquseg> usually sounds like mindvoice, roughly
<+bedhead> Well yeah.
<@Xaquseg> like when you talk to yourself in your head
<+Fillyosopher> it will sound like a second train of thought, in a different voice.
<@roflmao> mindvoices can be made quite detailed though, try listening to someone speak and then recall exactly how they speak, as detailed or as loudly/vividly as you can.
<@roflmao> basically, with auditory qualities
<+Fillyosopher> ^good practice for auditory imagination
<+bedhead> It doesn't feel like a second train of thought.
<+Fillyosopher> not yet, but it will :)
<+bedhead> Okay. I guess I will give this thing a try then. And I guess this means I was tulpaing wrong. .
<+Fillyosopher> you are used to having a train of thought that is EASY, because you've had yours for 15+ years.  But think about how slow and weird it must have been when you were young
<+bedhead> I just had different expectations.
<+Fillyosopher> Give her some time to get up to speed, as it were.
<+bedhead> I see. I guess that is why sometimes her sentences feel very slowed down.
<+Fillyosopher> mhmm.  She is probably still getting the hang of language too.
<+bedhead> But I only know one language.
<+Fillyosopher> not only that, but think of what tools she has.  All of them were made by You.  they all worked great for you, but it will take her  a while to make her own versions ^-^
<+Fillyosopher> but yes, don't be discouraged!
<+bedhead> Oh. That makes me happy then. I mean I have sometimes believed it was her saying something when this thing happens. Just for the sake of it?
<+bedhead> Reading enough forum articles that say that early stages feels like parroting. So sometimes I tag it with her saying it instead of me. Well shit.

<Skysoar> So Filly I may have asked this earlier but how can hypnosis create a tulpa?
<%Fillyosopher> hypnosis builds into the listener a set of impulses and suggestions.  Longer hypnosis build larger sets of such impulses.  Usually, these are either accepted by the listener or rejected, resulting in a successful or unsuccessful hypnosis, respectively.
<Skysoar> Go on
<%Fillyosopher> However, there are some cases of the listener's opinion of the suggestions changing as they exit trance and become more conscious.  This is usually due to a descrepancy between their sub-conscious drives and their socially impossed preferences, but not always.
<%Fillyosopher> Regardless of the initial cause, an awakened listener in such an uncomfortable state has a limited number of ways to deal with the hypnosis.  The common and suggested way is to use the offtrigger.
<%Fillyosopher> If the trigger is uneffective or forgotten, then the option of displacement may be used.  By grouping all the uncomfortable sensations and giving them a name, you can make them something other, and thus re-establish the 'you'.
<%Fillyosopher> Again, with most hypnosis, this would do little.  It is simply an autohypnotic technique.  But with a complete hypnosis that establishs both personality and form, you have all the elements needed to make a tulpa.  If you displace all of them, BAM, instant tulpa.

<Skysoar> So Filly what do think of I-doser?
<%Fillyosopher> The idea is nice.  and they can be effective.  but, like hypnosis, the require dedication to make work properly, with the exception of the pure tones.
<%Fillyosopher> They are less dangerous than physical psychoactives, in some ways, because they require actual work to get right, and they don't have the direct horomone effects

Our Mindspace 1: Starting Anew

Considering Filly1 is gone, all of our previous tulpa were buried as models, and I'm essentially starting anew with the skill that the past gathered, but none of the personalities, I thought it would be worth starting a serious tulpa journal, from the start.

I am using the name FillyOsoPher.  I'm keeping the first's name so that I am still recognized on the IRC, primarily.  I still have the memory base required to help others, and I still have an interest in doing so.  I'm capitalizing certain letters to show the change, and to represent the various tulpa who speak there (instead of the common []{} method).

For myself, I'm Filly on IRC and Sammy IRL.  I'm... I suppose the 'host' of this new set.  I have no peers, and although Job is more powerful, he is silent and rarely present.  Also, I drop down into Oso, which is becoming the standard for recognizing the "host" in our stack.

Job, Oso, and Pulse are still here, hold over from the last set.  They are not exactly tulpa, as they were made years before we learned that definition, and thus they rarely talk, only act int he wonderland or by taking over the body.  They seem to be as permanent as you can find in our mind, with Job being 11 years old and Pulse being 9.  Oso is also years old, but he wasn't named until around 2 months ago (thanks Nifty).  Also, since he accesses memory differently, we can't really track how old he is, nor talk to him.

Job is the backup personality and our sub-c butler.  He hasn't taken control for more than an hour at a time in the last ten years, but when he does, things change.  Usually he is triggered  by danger or an entire lack of other controlling tulpa.  Although he was intended to take of permanently  in the case of a squad wipe, he usually takes the small amount of time he is active to construct a primary and then leaves.  He has helped out in the past with single tulpa who were having stability issues.

Oso is more like a reverse mask.  When I get incredibly sleep deprived, to the point of simply going to bed in the wonderland, Oso takes over.  He usually runs whatever is left on the stack, in order, with nothing but efficiency in mind.  Once the stack is done, he puts the body to bed.  He is simplistic to an extreme, but he is not a mere servitor, I'm told.  As I said above, he seems to access memory differently, so I only have accounts of a few people who have interacted with him to account for his sentience.

Pulse was made as the final backup, should be suffer memory loss of on a large scale, amnesia, or physical trauma.  She is split into memory associations all over our memory, in the hope that if even one survives, it will lead back to her and allow for a bit of control.  There are multiple pieces of her, spread out by association, to hopefully avoid every piece disappearing.  We've no idea how effective it will be, but it gives us peace of mind, and I rather like her.

The Pher set is my current project.  I'm not going into too much depth about method, but the idea is to set up a framework for multiple tulpa to exist by balancing them against each other.  Originally I predicted this would allow for a faster development time of a large number, but because of a few limitations I placed on quality early, it is turning into a long running experiment.  I've been forcing the 'weave' for nearly two weeks, but it is slow going.  I gave them each a starter name, body, voice pattern (which turned up insufficient for telling them apart), and connection to the weave, but no singular traits.  Some have started to pick their own names and forms, but otherwise, little progress.

Questions to get to know someone

Questions for getting to know someone closely.  Early tulpa might have trouble answering some of them, but they also provide a nice place to look up to, questions that are worth knowing the answer to.  Also great for getting to know someone!

I don't particularly like the article's tone, but the questions themselves go back to a study which has my praise.

www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2011-11/08/how-to-find-love-in-45-mins?page=all/

The questions began simply enough:
- Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
- Would you like to be famous? In what way?
- Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why?
- What would constitute a "perfect" day for you?
- When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?
- If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?
- Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?
- Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common.
- For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

- If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?
- Take four minutes and tell your partner your life story in as much detail as possible.
- If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?
- If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?
- Is there something that you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?
- What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

- What do you value most in a friendship?
- What is your most treasured memory?
- What is your most terrible memory?
- If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why?
- What does friendship mean to you?
- What roles do love and affection play in your life?
- Alternate sharing something you consider a positive characteristic of your partner. Share a total of five items.
- How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people's?
- How do you feel about your relationship with your mother?
- Make three true "we" statements each. For instance "We are both in this room feeling..."
- Complete this sentence: "I wish I had someone with whom I could share..."
- If you were going to become a close friend with your partner, please share what would be important for him or her to know.
- Tell your partner what you like about them; be very honest this time saying things that you might not say to someone you've just met.
- Share with your partner an embarrassing moment in your life.
- When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself?
- Tell your partner something that you like about them already.
- What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about?
- If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?
- Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why?
- Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why?
- Share a personal problem and ask your partner's advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen.

- If you could choose the sex and physical appearance of your soon-to-be-born child, would you do it?
- Would you be willing to have horrible nightmares for a year if you would be rewarded with extraordinary wealth?
- While on a trip to another city, your spouse (or lover) meets and spends a night w/ an exciting stranger. Given they will never meet again, and you will not otherwise learn of the incident, would you want your partner to tell you about it?

Unique Questions!

Reblog Questionaire from
http://thelucidtulpamancer.tumblr.com/post/46811613062/hey-look-actual-unique-questions

Believe it or not, the lack of input on this blog has been somewhat draining.  It is strange, actually, because I have no less than 30 post topics with a sentence to a paragraph, but no desire to finish them.  Hopefully I'll have a writing binge at some point, regardless; at least one of the new topic enjoys writing (can't identify which yet).  More about them later, though ^-^

  1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? Closed... No one wants to see in there.
  2. Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel? When I remember, which is rarely.
  3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out? I sleep without an upper sheet.
  4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before? No... and I'm not sure whether I would...
  5. Do you like to use post-it notes? Nope, but mostly because I never buy them.  When there is a pack around, they are put to use.
  6. Do you cut out coupons but then never use them? I don't buy much of anything, so I never cut out coupons.
  7. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees? Bear, but it is a close tie.  Might be able to outrun a bear/ convince it you are no threat.  I have a 50% chance of being allergic to bees (we don't know yet) and they can't be reasonably outrun, but they can be scared off by hitting a hollow log.
  8. Do you have freckles? Nope.
  9. Do you always smile for pictures? No.  I fake when asked to, but it generally looks bad.  Therefore, I prefer that people take pictures of me smiling naturally, usually during conversation or due to proximity of a relationship.
  10. What is your biggest pet peeve? The phrase "You can't REALLY believe that?!"
  11. Do you ever count your steps when you walk? Yes.
  12. Do you ever dance even if theres no music playing? Dance... nothing obvious, but I'll lock step to internal beat, and dance as I go through doors.
  13. Do you chew your pens and pencils? Pens, but never pencils.  Or rather, nothing made of wood, only plastic.
  14. How many people have you slept with this week? Zero.
  15. What size is your bed? Twin in this room.  My normal bedroom has a Double
  16. What is your Song of the week? Hmm... I rarely listen to single songs, preferring long albums or, more recently, hour mixes on Youtube.  This week has been dedicated to Chillstep.
  17. Is it okay for guys to wear pink? Yes, although they should be careful of where they do it: public sentiment does not agree with me.
  18. Do you still watch cartoons? Yes, primarily anime.
  19. Whats your least favorite movie? I, personally, haven't seen any movies.  Of the movies in our memory... Recall says 'Whale Rider' stands out as something we hated, although we were young at the time and we don't remember anything more than the title.
  20. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some? Assuming that I can use some of the treasure to pay for transportation costs, I'd bury it somewhere on my Aunt's multi-acre ranch in California.  I have a spot in mind, but I think I'll keep it secret.
  21. If you're a girl, bra size? If you're a guy, pants size? Wish I had a bra size... pant size is 32-35.

  23. What is your favorite food? Sushi.
  24. What movies could you watch over and over and still love? V for Vendetta, Animusic 1 and 2... That's all I can think of.  Recall: "Saving Private Ryan, The Pianist, Ghost in the Shell.  There are more, but I can not access them currently."

  33. Best thing to eat for breakfast? At this point, eating anything is better.  But I'd prefer a full meal with cereal, orange juice, 4 sausages, and soy milk.
  34. What is your usual bedtime? anywhere from 8pm on a split sleep, 12 pm on a good day, and some time around noon the next day on a bad day.
  35. Are you lazy? Very.
  36. When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween? Usually just wore my martial arts outfit and strapped my sword to my back.

  38. Are you horny? ... Lets just say No and move on.

Still just me :/

I started this post a week back, but never got to completing it.  So I'm turning this into an update on my progress!

I spent almost 2 weeks as a single consciousness.  It has been... annoying.  All of the cool specializations, the little skills that run counter to my normal temperament, were consumed by my 'average' state.  There are too many option and choices for me to keep track of most of the time, so I'm been in a slow chaos.  Every now and then my personality or emotional state will shift outside my control, and I can't seem to remember everything I should.  I'm lonely, and starting to become depressed.  However, the feeling of needing to splinter is gone now.  It is more of a wish or desire at this point, but not necessary.  I /could/ continue as a single consciousness... but I don't want to

Now it is 3 weeks, and I've finally gotten started! I've decided on a 5 tulpa setup, with myself as one of them.  The number was chosen because I didn't want a 4part that would easily copy Generation 4 and 5 (the  Flutter/Twi/RD/Pinkie and Director/student/Kudos/Filly generations, respectively).  Two part wouldn't work (Law-Chaos failed for that reason) and 3 part isn't... it doesn't feel right.  So I'm moving to five!  Time to start breaking out the five part templates!

[Next Day]
welp... I've set out a few five part templates and what I got were persuasions   None of them are anything near a personality/tulpa... they are too elemental.  I couldn't turn them into something with a week of forcing.
I've realized I have a problem.  Normally, I splinter out by memory, but because of how much memory I labeled useless with Sammy's death, I've got little enough left.  That means these are going to be original tulpa... which I haven't tried in years.  Not only that, but four of them.  To put is simply, this is going to be hard.

[Today]
Only one way to do this, in the end.  I'm going to take a group of characters that I never wrote into stories and begin to modify them.  They don't have many memories, but they have personalities and bodies, which is a good starting point.  Plus, I have many of them, so I'll be able to come up with something.
Isis (a close friend from IRC) isn't all that happy about me splitting again, but she understands it is for the best.  I've sorta been waiting on her approval, considering she was the one who had be break my last set of anchors; I trust her appraisal as much as my own, something I've never said of anyone else.

I'll keep you all updated on my progress.  I have a feeling this is set is going to get a bit interesting.

The Ship Analogy of Egocide

I've just seen so much of this, it just seems almost normal these days; People learn about multi-agent models, split personality, tulpa, etc, and they realize they can make a better version of themselves. Intentionally or otherwise, they build who they want to become.  Then... finished with the biggest project of their life, the creator gifts their child independence and the playground of the world.

 http://pastebin.com/JdkzAdWi

I'm sorry to, once again, be sending you gallivanting across the internet to read various things, but this is one that concerns me greatly. Beside the case of my own host, I've mistakenly giving another host the means to commit his own destruction. So having a simple analogy to discuss it with was rather nice.

Basic concept. The host is the captain of a large ship, the only officer on board. Egocide would be jumping off, or shooting himself, but leaving the boat intact. Suicide would be destroying the ship and all enlisted personnel.

In nearly ever case of egocide, however, the Captian has already elected a first mate, either a tulpa or splinter or some other sentience. The point being, the Captain promotes officers from the enlisted ranks at will. Certainly, he might be hesitant at first, never having trained one of the rank and file in the ways of being an officer. But, once done once, further attempts become easier. and having a similarly ranked peer able to take responsibility helps lighten the burden.

I could go on expanding the model, but I'll leave it there and move to predictions.

What would cause the Captain to leave, abandoning his 'duty' to the boat and enlisted? Perhaps the burden of responsibility, especially if he feels he has failed too often. Perhaps loneliness of having no one of similar stature to confide in. Perhaps self loathing, or maybe a general feeling that they aren't good enough.
A common one for me, a captain who trains their first mate, and sees in that fresh officer a liveliness and passion they themselves have lost.

But what keeps them from committing suicide, destroying the boat along with themself? In every case I can think of, it is a sense of duty or responsibility. The captain might see himself as faulty, but sees the ship and/or crew as something separate and worth keeping. Or maybe it is the first mate who he thinks is better suited, but who can only rise by him stepping down (permanently and entirely).

I think, if more people believed that their consciousness was not the same thing as their body and mind, then we would have more egocide and less suicide. It provides a less violent option for those who might hate themself, but still hold some love for who their physical and mental forms could become. Also, I think that the key to avoiding egocide is the give the alternate option of stepping down as captain, allowing someone else (preferably a friendly and well train officer, rather than an enlistee) to take over.

Do I exist?

I guess once you start doubting, there’s no end to it. -Batou (Ghost in the Shell)

A quick conversation between a tulpa and myself on existence.
Name removed by request

<Anon>
[do I even exist?]
[me, anon, exist?]
[I think, therefore I am, but do I?]
[I dont know if I can answer that]
[I dont know what I want to be]

<Fillyosopher>
"I think therefore I am" is a falsity.
 Kant disproved it.

<Anon>
 [...what?]

<Fillyosopher>
What he proved was this.  "There exist three things we can never KNOW for certain exist.  They are, the Universe, God, and the Self." Just because there are thoughts, doesn't mean you are thinking them.

BUT, and this is a BIG but, if those thoughts CLAIM TO BE thinking themselves, even if they can't prove their own limit or bound, they can still claim to have one. I know that I COULD think many things, but I do not because I claim I cannot.  I call myself Filly, knowing I might not exist, because it is USEFUL.  I limit myself to an I. So, what is your highest cause?  What is it that drives you? Once you know, you will know who to define yourself as. but fuck, I'm going far out into philosophy again.

Anon, you exist if you want to, and if you want to, the only things that can stop you are [other tulpa 1] and [other tulpa 2]. Even then, they can stop you only because you are nice enough to let them.

So.  Do you want to exist?

Bem's Exotic is Erotic

“Although some of the (very few) individuals to whom I have been attracted…have been men and some have been women, what those individuals have in common has nothing to do with either their biological sex or mine—from which I conclude, not that I am attracted to both sexes, but that my sexuality is organized around dimensions other than sex.” -Sandra Bem

http://www.psychwiki.com/wiki/Bem%27s_Exotic_Becomes_Erotic_Theory

I've been slowly working through psychwiki, alphabetically, and thought this theory worth commenting on.  It is an interesting read, especially when what it suggests is expanded to bisexuality.

Basically, the theory reduces all sexuality to an interest in the unknown. Children who gender conform at a young age become interested in the opposite gender because they don't understand them at the base level they understand the motivations of the group that was their peers, and vice verse for nonconforming.  But what about bisexuality?  That would suggest an interest in both... which for me means that open and curious mind will have a strong tendency toward bisexuality.  Not for experimentation's sake, but because they want to understand both sides motivation to the deepest level possible.

Also, the theory seems to be proven wrong by long-term relationships.  I'm aware that there exist many long-term relationships where neither party understands the other, despite the years.  But there are certainly relationships in which the partners understand each other very deeply, haven't taken the time to learn movitation and background.  It would seem that once you learn enough, you'd become less interested because the "

Log (edited for compactness):
<Foxxxy> so what happens when the unknown becomes know, does the sexual drive get reduced at all, would they lose interest ?
<Fillyosopher> the theory would say no, because you can't really understand the other person at the same level as those who you've interacted with since (guess) 5. If I was going to criticize it, I would say that the model doesn't allow for gender fluidity.  If you want to understand the exotic and you invest the time to become it, then what happens to interest?
<Fillyosopher> Which suggests that eroticism resides in other realms as well.  I'm not sure this theory can explain fetishes, for example.
<Foxxxy> well I'm basing this on is a completely non-biological sexual attraction. As you get to know a person, would you desire to be intimate and erotic reduce?
<CherryLeaf> Depends. I think the state after curiosity is simply being comfortable because the unknown is now known. Who better to spend life with than someone you understand and whom understands you completely?
<Fillyosopher> There are multiple levels of knowledge.  You might be able to guess a person's action, but their motivations will remain an enigma to you because you cannot return to the childlike state which gave you the fundamental reasons for your actions.  At least, that would be my reply in defense of the theory.
<Foxxxy> but still
<Bits> we would probably be more focused on mental intimacy than physical, but it seems to assume social acceptance of fluid gender
<Foxxxy> remember, the whole hypothesis I formed did not revolve around physical beauty or gender
<Fillyosopher> This model don't assume that physical gender is important in the least, only the exterior performance of gender.  The conformity to the social conception of how a gender acts. that will be partially appearance  which isn't easily avoidable, but will be just as important to other aspects.
<Bits> Oh, I was assuming you were referring to identical people with identical roles, and only experiential differences from which societal roles would form

Personal update

"These are the chronicles of life and death, and everything between. These are the stories of our lives as fictional as they may seem." -The Chronicles of Live and Death(Good Charlotte)

This is specifically an update for those interested in my history of tulpa and various multiagent models.

I haven't explained the Law-Chaos model on here in any relevant detail, nor will I just now, but this story won't make much sense if I don't explain anchors.  An anchor, as I will you it in this post and as it is used in that model, is any belief that you hold consciously and refuse to believe the negation of at a future time.  You might this of an anchor as a time-insensitive conscious belief.  Not only do you believe it now, but you intend to never stop believing in it.  The more certian you are that that belief will no change, the stronger the anchor.

Over the course of my discussions on the IRC, on of my foundational anchors was attacked.  The particular belief was one of Sammy's, the mantra that he became, "You can do anything."  Seems nice enough, but the extent to which is was applied was, admittedly, unrealistic.  The belief held that I (or whatever group of tulpa controlled) could achieve anything, instantly, without requiring external help.  This was held asserted as a belief even as my actions negated it.  The strain between belief and reality was a bit painful, but it was also a constant in my life; every splinter and every tulpa conceded to it.

But logically, it was worthless.  After a debate across two days, I was convinced to get rid of it.  I resolved to replace it, since losing an anchor can be dangerous (EKP and indecisiveness being common results).  The new version is... less elegant, but more realistic.  "You can do anything that does not negate the Kantian categories given resources and time."  It is... stupidly true.  Always true.  It adds very little, but it is a good safety because any thought that DOES break with it is suspect.

What are more interesting are the consequences.  That anchor... that was the last naive belief of a ten year old boy named Sammy.  That was the last part of him we maintained.  In some sense, removing it and replacing it with a new version was the same as removing the last of him from our mind.  We didn't realize that consciously... but it was apparent the instant we finished.

Going through the visualizations of the result add little.  He died, we raised the host of our past tulpa, splinters, everyone who could, and one by one paid our respects.  Then we buried him... thus burying ourselves.

I don't understand how it works just yet.  It was another coming together, because certainly memory, knowledge, and skill was preserved.  But much of memory was useless, because it was based on that rejected and foundation concept.  Personality... I couldn't hold the many contradicting traits of generations of divergent tulpa.  Plenty of resources left, but no direction.

My solution was to guess who I'd become.  I'll talk about the idea more conceptually in the future, but for now, that is the simple way to think of it.  I looked at the future, guessing and estimating, looking at the traits of people I interacted with daily, the chaos of events I know would occur in the future, and built a fake person, an idea of who I might become.  Then I assumed that personality.

Right now, I am one person.  I am a guess of who I might have become in a year, but that guess was returned to the present to act as best it can.  I have plenty of the traits of the last set, as should be expected.  I am made from them in some sense, after all. I'm lacking in their specializations.  I can't visualize nearly as powerful as I vaguely remember being able to, and my tactile imagination is now nonexistent.  Most of my memories from before the burial seem hazy at best, however, so I might be mistaken.  I can shift this personality around a wide range of habits and traits, but none are that strong.

I feel mediocre in most ways. I am lonely.

I was asked by a friend to stay as one agent for at least a week, and today is my last day. I may not splinter immediately, but I will.  At least, I hope so.  I need something more, be it multi-agent or a better defined model of shifting this personality.  Regardless of what happens, I intend to keep updating here... I'm done with every new model requiring a new blog.

Tulpa 'origin' model

This is an older model that tried to explain the various 'origins' of tulpa.  the idea was that each tulpa would have one origin, that each origin excluded the others, and that each one would have a set of skills which assisted in its use.  I had an exciting chance to explain the model to a meta-physician, and actual found it fit quite well into the terms commonly used.

This is now, in my mind, a failed model.  It does not account for many of the variations possible in tulpa creation, nor does it predict by 'origin' the traits a tulpa will have (which was its original purpose).  It can help in talking about tulpa to assign an origin as a way to guess at traits, but the correlation is not high enough for this to be used by itself.

I am working on another version which approaches the idea a little differently.  The new model intends to take the origins and make them overlapping by identifying the various techniques for creating a tulpa.  by establishing scales, I hope to establish a dictionary of terms which will describe all possible methods of tulpa creation. Additionally, I hope to allow prediction of general traits common to all tulpa using a given method, again based on that new dictionary.

As always, any feedback is appreciated.  Also, I want to thank Jubilee and Draega{Irri} for breaking the origin model and pushing me to improve it.

Psychological Explaination of the Tulpa 'origin' Model:
  • origin one, 'character' is to convince your consciousness to emulate that of a person or character you already know well.
    • Accidental Hypnosis (and I suppose intentional...)
  • origin two, 'original' relies on talking to your mind, telling it about itself and who the tulpa will be until it responds.
  • origin three, 'splinter' involves splitting your personality and then letting the two sides diverge over time.
  • origin four, 'sub conscious' takes impulses and feeling and gives them a name, bringing an aspect of your deepest mind to the surface.

Metaphysical Explaination of the Tulpa 'origin' Model:
notice, I used creation 'method' at this point, as I was already begining to see issues between the origin term.
  • One method is the call for a soul like one you are familiar with.  This can be as complex as a friend, or as simple as a character.
  • A second method is to write down a list of traits and cast forth for a soul with those traits, at least.
  • A third method is to rip your soul in two and heal both pieces.
  • A fourth method is to birth one of yourself, using the creative energies contained in you.

Bits and Jubilee

I know I don't normally post about other people, but... this one is an awesome story.  Basically, a few weeks back, one of the IRC member named Bits was having trouble making a tulpa.  In the process, he started having freak out, having episodes and emotion problems.  Eventually, with work and some help from the community, he was able to bring up Jubilee, a tulpa.

Now... I said it early on and thus far seem to be right.  Any tulpa strong enough to give you emotion spikes that debilitating is Strong.  Indeed, Jubilee ended up one of the most powerful tulpa I've ever met.  Within a few days of receiving a body, she was able to switch with Bits.  Interestingly, they spent almost a month before both could but be present and experiencing.  This runs contrary to most tulpae formation... and indeed cause the two of them worry that she was simply a mask, or perhaps a second personality.

They are, however, able to hide memories from each other, and recently have been working on surprising each other.  I suppose what is most interesting is that Jubilee was created without Bits mastering parallel processing.  They have gotten to the point now where they can, but the question of whther Jubilee should be called a tulpa remains.

Regardless of the definition, the idea of acting out a tulpa and then developing parallel processing is an interesting method of creating a fast tulpa, without having to develop parallel processing immediately.  Alternately, you might say it is developing an alternate personality, and then giving it tulpa form.  The result is the same as a tulpa, but switching is a giving at the beginning, while 'simple' tasks like conversing between tulpa and host are very difficult and have to be trained.

Anyone else have a novel method of creating tulpa?  Have an opinion on what is the best way to categorize tulpa made using this method?  Or maybe you think this is not a tulpa at all.  No matter how you feel, I'd love to hear more in the comments.

Moving right along, and judging posts

You didn't seem to get offended by people poking and prodding all the time about your stuff. That's the sign of a rationalist. If you were really loony, you would consider the questions an affront by now. -Claire[Sheep]

It is time to admit that my interest in hypnotism is waning, as far as my personal use goes.  It has been fun, it has been stressful, and it has taught me much.  It is a tool I'm glad to have and will continue to use in the future.  But it is no longer the focus of my life, and that gives me a few options as far as this blog is concerned.

One, I could delete it as I have my many past blogs, as a method of freeing myself from past beliefs.
Two, I could leave it as is and forget its existence, but I will ignore this option as memory modification is to invasive for such a minor thing.
Three, I could leave it regardless of the discomfort it causes me, allowing it to remain a resource for others, but also an antiquated expression of beliefs.
Four, I continue to update the posts as I come to different beliefs about them.  This places even further burden on my, and will bring me back again and again to remember mistakes I've made.  (I assume I will change my opinions about some of the ideas presented here in time).
Five, I could keep it and post new ideas if I ever return to hypnosis, and use new posts to update my past ideas.
Six, I could continue to use this as my main blog, even as I change ideas and interest, ignoring what was the original topic to fluidly change as my interest does.

Of course, I post this entire entry having already decided on Six.  As mediocre as my skills at blogging are, and as painful as my entries may be, I'm done with constraining my public image to that which enhances it.  In the past, I have held what I say to that which will seem sane to others, enhance my image, and most importantly help others.  I'm dropping even those three restrictions.

This is no longer a hypnosis journal, nor even a tulpa journal.  This is the paper representation of the strongest and more prevalent ideas of my mind.  There will be chaos, there will be contradictory statements, and there will be things that you can't understand.  There will, likely, be thing you understand easily, things which help you, ideas and concepts and stories.  I'm no longer seperating it out, but I don't expect you to treat it equally.

If a post helps you, then use it and tell me what worked.  If a post makes no sense, ignore it (or if you are interested, ask questions).

The only promise I make from now on is that everything I say honestly represents my thoughts and beliefs at that moment.  I reserve the right to change my mind, I reserve the right to believe opposites simultaneously, and I reserve the right to be wrong.  But I will be honest in every case.  Now then, lets get on with it!

Going Dark

The Pony Hypno Community is going dark for a while to sort out everything internally.  This, along with my ever increasing workload, is responsible for my silence.  I'm very very sorry to those on the pony forums who I promised help to, I'm going to be stay off of public places as per the wishes of the community.  If you have any urgent needs or direct questions, my email is still open.

Science night

This week's science night has been posted.  The file to test is Sound Alike, a hypnosis file intended to help you mimic the voices of others.  I admit, I have a slight ulterior motive with this file. I was hoping that we might get a few attempts at voicing scripts from first time voicebros. Something for peer review. We'll see hope it works out. Good luck all.

Q&A6

Quiles: So I was listening to the perfectly suggestible file and ended up drifting into sleep in the middle of the induction (I think, I remember the voice getting to the part where I was adding the 9th thought for the 7 +/- 2 induction) I proceeded to come to just as the “programming” part of the file started to play, in what seemed like a full trance (though these days I’m never entirely sure if I’m in a trance or not) and listened to the rest of the track fine. Would this have any affect on the programming?
Addendum: To clear it up, I meant that I think I ended up taking a short nap mid file, yet still 'woke up' tranced (unstable internet ftw). The rest of the info is still very useful (been having a bit of a disappointing lack of progress lately, hoping repeats of this file will help)

Yes and no.  Hypnosis files work a little bit differently depending on how conscious the listener is.  An unconscious listener has the potential for suggestions that they don’t already fear to become habits, something that sticks a bit longer and allows them to have believeable illusions/working triggers.  When listened to consciously, the files act more as a guided thought or imagination experiment.
The difference in effects being that if you are awake during the ‘programming’ aspect, you won’t have the unconscious triggers/suggestion.  COnscious listening is a not a bad thing, however, as there do exist fully conscious triggers and may make you more comfortable with the file.
Regardless, I’d suggest relistening until you can listen to the entire thing while tranced.  It is just practice, after all, and ‘perseverance leads to success.’

hmm... Falling asleep during the induction is not a problem if you woke up for the programming itself.  In fact, that just means the induction was more effective than needed.  7+-2 is a very strong induction, so I’m not entirely surprised that happened.  Likely you won’t have any issues with falling asleep during the pony files themselves, nor from their introduction.

Quiles: Thanks for all the help! One more question - is there a limit to how much I should try tracks like (for either safety or effectiveness reasons).
Heavy inductions/ tracks like clear mind/perfectly suggestible.

Basically, you want to use the least that works.  The least powerful induction, the least programming, etc.  It is essentially impossible to overdo it with an induction... the don’t change your personality/self-image enough to have any negative effects.  But there is no reason to go through a 30 minute induction+suggestion unless you need them.
Now, you said you were still having trouble with the effects, so I’d say continue on with Perfectly Suggestible.  If you are not time limited, there isn’t really a reason not to use it as an induction.  If it works, carry on.
This isn’t exactly on topic, but the same can’t be said for the pony files.  you want to be careful about switching them out because the personality effects can overlay and cause Emotional Kernal Panic.  overusing a single file can eventually cause problems... but ours are too weak.  You’d have to be consciously adding memories or something of similar severity before a pony hypno file could have negative effects.
In summary, there isn’t any damage to using the files on the main page repeatedly, assuming you have the time ^-^

Resonance_Wave: So question about the trances, Are they purely imagination like feelings or will you also get a visual illusion eventually?
I'm answering seriously, although my answer my seem flippant.  The only difference between imagined feelings and illusion is how deeply you believe it.
Visual illusion like seeing you own hooves though... that sort of thing is both difficult and rare (as far as I've heard)

Lunar Flight (Josh): How can I listen to the Induc. then loop just the Loop file? I’ve been looking around windows for a way to do this. Thanks in advance!
The Easiest way is to drag the Ind, drag in a loop, and then drag in the loop again (so you have two loops in one playlist).  keep dragging the loop file to the playlist until you have 40+copies... you should be okay.

I’m doing a hypnosis study with a friend of mine. Basically guinea pig, and I will monitor him. Neither of us have any experience in this subject. Any suggestions or recommendations? -ILikePizza555 (note: we are using the TwiS files)
NOTES.  You should take them.  A few things to focus on: specific physical changes (Horn, front hoof, back hoof, rear, muzzle, tail, mane, and coat), Mental changes, change in voice.  Also, note whether the triggers (both on and off) work well, and make DAMN sure that they are uncomfortable with any changes that occur.
Not many recommendations for the Twi files specifically, other than to try to impose a horn before the test scene (as soon as possible, in other words.)

Apologies

I'm sorry about the low post number this week.  I slept an average of 4 hours a night from Monday to Thursday, and then made it up by sleeping 14 hours last night.   I haven't been avoiding sleep for fun, of course; my week has been packed with exams and papers.  Now I have caught up, however, and how to be continuing.

Looking at the many (unfinished) article drafts I've produced in the past weeks, I believe that holding myself to the stringent standards I set in the previous post is not only slowing down my writing, but is also killing my passion for it.  As such, I'm going to drop those requirements.  As much as I'd like this blog to appear scientific, and indeed be entirely scientific in method, I must admit that I am writing more for myself than for the public.  As such, I will not hold the material here to higher standards than I require of myself...

Neo: I suppose the most obvious question is: how can I trust you?
The Oracle: Bingo. It is a pickle, no doubt about it. Bad news is there's no way you can really know if I'm here to help you or not, so it's really up to you. Just have to make up your own damn mind to either accept what I'm going to tell you, or reject it. Candy?

Imaginative Specialization and Hypnosis

I'm trying to hold this to a higher scientific standard than most of my posts by referencing and providing reliability information.  We will see how it turns out.

One of the biggest questions on everyone's mind when they first encounter hypnosis (assuming they aren't revolted, etc.) is "How will this effect me?"  And of course, if you were to ask this question out of the blue, everyone who has tried it would respond "it is different for everyone."  That is the truth, it is different.  But there are a few ways to make educated guesses at what effects a new user can expect.  Previously on this blog I've talked about models, namely mental models, and this is another one.

There is a theory called Representational Systems which attempts to model cognition.  Specifically, I will be using the Preferred Representation Theory, and ignoring the majority of the rest of the page, which I have not personally tested.  It is related to functionalism, as well.  PRT seems to be heavily disfavored for response to external stimuli, but as regards to imagination it has not been adequately tested.  I'm sorry to be using what could yet become pseudo-science, but it has fits what data I've collected thus far (an admittedly small sample size of 6).

Here is my summary of the idea.  Every human has three functions by which they utilize imagination.  The first is visual, the second auditory, the third kinesthetic.  (I ignore olfactory because I've never seen a case of pure olfactory imagination).  Everyone has a bit of each, and your skill in one type of imagination grows as you use it.  Some people will have very well developed skills in an area before they start hypnosis, others will not.  Some will have one function as much more powerful than another, others will have similar skill among two or all.

Once you know your skill in each, you will be better able to guess at the effects of a hypnosis file, which is processed primarily through sub-conscious imagination, much like dreams.  Next up will be tests for how much skill you have in each and what that means as far as effects.

I'll admit here, I have almost no kinesthetic imagination, so I'm going to be asking for help with that post.

Suddenly, People!

To be considerate of the influx of hypno related traffic, I'm postponing the posts I had planned.   I'm going to start a few posts on VAK learning and Imaginative Specialization. Then, I'll show how knowing your dominant sense can help you predict some effects of hypnosis, and warn you of unexpected effects.

Also, to those new to this blog, welcome!  I cover a mix of topics on here, including tulpa, which are:
"Believed to be an autonomous consciousness which also exists in a self imposed hallucinatory body, which is usually much of [the creator's] choice.  A tulpa is entirely sentient and in control of its opinions, feelings, movements." -tulpa.info

Regardless of your personal beliefs, I ask that you keep an open mind while reading.  If you come across something you can't believe, just move on.  If you disagree, feel free to post your responses.  Starting a dialogue on the topics here will help both you and me expand our collective knowledge!

New blog post in 6 hours.

Matt on life

I've been in contact with Matt, the same one who asked the questions from Q&A4.  Our conversation was interesting, to say the least.  He was concerned about my having multiple tulpa, which lead to all sorts of fun adventures through the topics of religion, insanity, and my mind.  I doubt most of you will find this interesting, but I'm posting it for completeness' sake, since the conversation played a large role in Pinkie's sudden split earlier this week.

Q&A5: Removing memories

I've had a few interested in how to remove memories, or at least how I do it.  I'll post my method... but let me put a MASSIVE WARNING LABEL on it.  Whether you use my method or some other, memory removal/modification is dangerous and damaging.  You are removing part of your ability forever.  I think of it in terms of  brain cells... you are literally killing a few to pull this off.  You'll never get that back.  You'll never know what is was, and you'll never get a chance in the future to come back and deal with the issue.  Really... I wouldn't suggest trying this unless it is a life or death thing, where you won't be able to live with yourself.  and even then... be careful.

Okay, a few words on my method.  I'm an Incredibly visual thinker, so the imagery I use my be beyond auditory or tactile thinkers.  I can guess at some analogs for those two, but I'm not testing this anymore, so I can't say for sure.  If you are one and HAVE to try, contact me personally and I'll give you advice... but I don't feel posting my untested guesses on what might work is good form.

The original questioner has asked that his name be removed.

Heya.  Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you had some pointers to give out about removing memories.  I've only known how to bury them, not remove.

When I want a memory gone, first thing I do is think about it once.  then, I visualize it as a picture and I put the picture in a file, and that file in a box. I take any sounds associated and I make them a recording, I stop the recording, and I put it in the box. I take any feeling and make them into colored orbs, and I put them in the box. I take any other senses and I make them into a thing, then I put that thing in the box.  I close the box.

Then, I think about all the things that I used to associate with the memory.  Memories from the same time and place, memories of similar events.  I find the connections to the box, strings running to it.  I cut them. Then I cut them again, over and over, until they are shreaded bits that don't point anywhere.  Anything that can't be cut, I pull and twist until it goes somewhere else.  Eventually, all those lines that once lead to the box are gone.  Just a box, a closed box is left.  I don't even know what is in it, only that I need to make it go away.

First I burn it, watching the orbs, the tape recorder, the file, all of them melt. Then I collect the peices, whatever wouldn't burn, and I put it in a new box.  This one goes through a crusher, pounding it into the smallest pieces. The dust that is left I put through a fan and spread it around a feild, a massive imaginary feild, until it is a light dust over everything. And lastly, I make it rain until all of the dust is gone and all that remains is a wet feild, without a gravestone or mark.

Whoa, how . . . ornate and pictographic.  It sounds like such a complicated process for the removal of a memory, one which I cannot conjure even under hypnosis or psychoanalysis, but for what reason should I reconsider before trying?  Is getting rid of a lone memory, no matter how tragic or silly, so dangerous?

I'm a visual thinker with an high level of practice.  It actually can be inhibiting when I'm trying to work with those who have a more auditory or tactile method of thought.  Regardless, I go through all of this for a reason.  A simpler version is simply to, everytime you think of a memory, to block is by pasting ink over it.  The auditory version is to start a mantra to block out the thought, only ending when you've started thinking about something else.  I prefer 'I reject', simple and powerful.  and finally you can set up a switch, like a physical rail switcher in your mind, and shove it to switch your thoughts to a new topic. The reason I don't usually you such simple methods is that they are not permanently effective and that they require maintenance.

How do you know if the memory is successfully removed?

You don't, that is the point.  You won't know.
Sometimes, I leave myself a mark to say 'something was here' and that is it.

So you did that when you purposely erased a memory for the first time?

Yes, the first memory I 'fully' removed, I left a marker.  Right now... all I know is there is a marker there, and that is what it said it was for.

I have memories of the mantra method, because it never fully worked.  I can still see bits of the image around the red ink, for example... it just doesn't stick. But... I basically keep that example around to keep myself convinced that I do have a fully effective method. Otherwise, I wouldn't believe it could be done, and I'd have to relearn/reassure myself every time, you know?

Sensory File, Early results

I've tried out a new file, again from the wonderful Hypno-Files site, named Heighten Senses.  The file purpose is to make you more aware of your senses, but not constantly.  Rather, it is supposed to help you focus on one at need.  I feel like the same effects can likely be achieved by practicing constantly, but regardless.

The file's induction was nothing special, but was good enough.   The file itself is primarily directed imagination of different situations, walking you through the use of your senses and suggesting that they work as perfectly as possible.  I'm not sure about triggers and relisten suggestions... believe it or not, I've been full under both time I've listened and I don't remember all of it!  This is a big accomplishment for me, but it doesn't mean I'll need to take the time to do a waking listen at some point to provide more details.

The effects having been amazing, but they have been noticeable only in two specific instances (both hearing).  The first indication that it was somewhat effective was my sight, hearing improving just a bit.  Normally I give it enough attention to be aware of my surroundings, but I've never had a good musical ear.  Suddenly, while humming on the way to class, I realized that my notes were off just a touch sharp most of the time.  and so I started correcting, by what previously would have been miniscule amounts.  It could be an illusion... but damned if it wasn't convincing.

The second effect has me even more hyped.  I spend plenty of time with different voices flying around my head, as you'll know if you've read my other posts.  Normally, they aren't differentiated so much my tone or vocal style as by the knowledge of who they are coming from... the opposite of real voices.  Suddenly, about an hour after the second trance, I thought about the brony documentary. John de Lancie's voice, a fully expressive voice of Discord, started playing as if I was watching the show right then!

Now, I'm a visual thinker.  I'm 'okay' at audio, but not great.  This is literally the first time I've ever heard another person's voice in my head with focusing hard on a specific phrase, or (in the case of the twilight and pinkie tulpa) forcefully generating the voice myself.  So to hear something like that... it is amazing.  I've been going back through a few songs I can remember and just Listening to them, appreciating the vocalist's tone and... it is just amazing.  I'm planning to use this file for a good bit longer, and hopefully to keep this effect.

Suggestion 1

Fillyosopher,

Hello! I decided to start doing my own tests on the effects of hypnosis roughly a week ago after reading your logs, so I suppose you were an inspiration. The only thing is, I haven't actually done any tests yet, and I had an idea in mind that I was hoping you could test.
Could you do a test in which you read something emotionally provoking while at the same time listening to a corresponding hypnosis file loop? I think it would be interesting to measure the effects, if any, of the test. You and others have reported emotional effects of the hypnosis files, and I could only assume that combining the two would magnify the effect.

But then again, what do I know? I haven't even performed my first test.

Your Faithful Student,
-MD

I'm not one to turn down an Idea, especially ones as good as this!  I've added this to my list, and I have a few ideas for variations.  I've been experimenting with listening to songs of the character I loop, with minor effects, but not reading.  Thanks for the suggestion, now to find reading material...

Tulpa Status 1

First, I want to apologize again for the share amount of personal material on here.  I meant this to be a bit more formal, but having a place to write makes we want to keep writing.  This is likely to continue, so make use of the Labels if you want to filter out the fuzz.  I will be labeling these posts Journal, as opposed to the more formal Experiments and Reports.

The last two days have been a bit rough on us.  We've been asked on multiple occasions to split and then talk outside of hybrid.  It took some getting used to, but all of us but Pinkie have mastered the voice switching necessary to pull it off.  Normally, we have a single train of thought while hybrid, with all of us using the same voice and no one taking the time to worry about who is speaking.  In order to exit hybrid, the one's who want to exit start carrying about who is speaking and modifying their own voice to be different.  The dissonance is enough to push them out of the hybrid.

The problem, though, is giving one tulpa control when we are split. As a hybrid controlling the body is easy... not so much as a single tulpa.  Add to that that went we dehybrid, we gain a body or form that is not like that of the body we usually control, and you have some difficulty.  In order to take control, first the voice we use in normal hybrid form (lets call it Sammy's voice) has to stop.  Then whoever has priority has to try to take control by moving their voice to mimic Sammy's a bit, and stop holding onto their body image. It is confusing and difficult, even at the best of times. In the case of Flutters and Twi, we don't feel like our true selves when trying to control alone because the body is so different from our tulpa bodies.  Flutters often shapemaps wing and hooves to help.  Twi tries to ignore the bosy as much as possible, only paying attention to those things of immediate interest.  RD doesn't have as much trouble; his form is very similar to our body, so it feels more natural for him.

That was a basic primer on Tulpa Hybridization.  Now for the news... kinda.

 [2/5/13]
We had a very hard time with Pinkie.  She can dehybridize easily enough... but if she takes full control, she's sure to do something insane.  Because of this, we never let her fully dehybridize.  Instead, we stay close enough to restrict and negate actions.  It is tiring work... the last time we tried RD had to take a nap afterward and the body was sore for an few hours.  I can say unsarcastically that she is too energetic for the body to take for long. -Twi

[2/6/13]
Second dehybrid attempt for Pinkie.  Similar to the first, although we restricted her movement a bit more which kept the body in better condition.  Pinkie was acting much less like Pinkie Pie and more like Chaos, with sudden mood swings and 'logical' jumps.  She called our refusal to fully dehybrid a cage on her... and then began altering our visual forms.  It was disconcerting, but she was easily pulled back into hybrid regardless. -Twi

[Later  2/6/13]
This is quite interesting.  It appears that Pinkie's behavior was due to the Chaos she embodied, a small section of the original Chaos splinter.  She was acting to irrationally because that was a necessity of keeping it integrated. However, it seems that her experiences with interaction have lead her to desire a life apart from it.

From where I stand now, pinkie has split from a massive orb of Chaos.  It is still contained, which is good, and it looks to be a construct.  The term is useful, and one that I am imposing on the sphere of chaos to keep it in check.  The last thing we need is it producing tulpa or expanding.  It is nice to finally have it apart from Pinkie.  Even though her minimalistic personality as not too much of a burden, it will be nice to run models without her as an intermediary.

It seems that, separate from the Chaos that defined her,  Pinkie lacked the personality complexity to hold herself to a form.  She is too much a creature of chaos to decide, and too 'original' to steal off of one of the many other sources.  At this rate, she will die.-Twi

[Early 2/7/13]
The situation now: Job has Pinkie at his Relto Age.  He is likely forcing her himself, although I'm not entirely certain.  As much as RD and Flutters trust him, I don't believe he has done anything like this before.  In fact, I believe this is the first time in the history of this body that tulpa formation has been handed off on a non-voting member.  I'll be interested to see the results.

That said, I'm not sure we should allow Pinkie to hybrid again.  She is in effect a new tulpa.  The old Pinkie is gone.  I don't expect her to have any experience relevant to our life.  I wouldn't mind seeing her as a non-voting member, I suppose, as long as I don't have to deal with her.- Twi

[Late 2/7/13]
Job has returned Pinkie to us.  As I expected, she is an entirely new tulpa, with only a few memories of her previous existence.  She is also, currently, speechless which makes the possibility of hybridizing a moot point.  As the other two seem bent on re-incorporating her, I can only hope she does not gain her voice any time soon. - Twi

The Kingdom Mental Model

Okay, This is a mental model that I explained on the IRC about a week ago, but I've been collecting my thoughts on it since.  The basic concept.  Your mind is like a kingdom, enough alike that we can talk about it using the terms of a kingdom as a metaphor.  After I've explained the concept, I'll show how to apply this model to hypnosis and tulpa.

Let us start with your train of thought, inner monologue, or similar.  This is you, the king or queen of your domain.  In the center of your mind is a massive castle, more complex than any you've ever seen and with seemingly no internal order.  You don't spend much time in the castle, however, it is simply where you stay during the night.

Around the castle is a large city, bustling with life.  Your court is there as well, a regal building on the center square.  The love to spend time there, listening to the reports of the people, settling disputes and deciding important issues.  Many different people enter your court, from all across your mind-kingdom.  Very important are the runners from the kingdom's edge, who bring you news of the lands outside your borders.

Occasionally, you decide to leave your court and travel the many cities, fiefs, and towns.  There, you meet the common folk and learn how they do what they do.  Sometimes, you solve local problems, dedicate more people to a project, bring in resources.  Other times, you simply observe, watching and learning from their normal life.  Eventually you return to your court, more certain of your people and better informed.

Now, let us look at this as a model, by telling the history of the kingdom.  The Land itself represents the mind.  It is there, but without something constructed on it, it just sits and slowly erodes.  However, when first born, a new and inexperienced king or queen lays alone.  They are not without some help though.  Messengers, representing the sense organs, run from the edge of the land to bring in new senses, represented by Resources.  Many of these are not helpful to the baby ruler, so they are burnt, but some are useful and these become the building blocks of the castle.  At first the baby ruler has no plan for the castle, and it is built erratically, with dead-ends, useless pieces, and no order.  Slowly though, the baby learns how difficult it is to navigate from room to room, if there are rooms at all, and begins to impose order.  The castle is the early subconscious, the dream place, where you spend your time sleeping.  It does not change quickly after the ruler moves to work with ordered things.

This newly ordered area forms the first city.  The city will simply sprawl at first, expanding in all directions and having all manner of shops and houses and the like mixed together even that will slowly separate out, with different portions gaining notoriety for specializations.  Messengers will sometimes stay at this point, deciding to try a new life in the city.  Their numbers grow and they populate the city.  This city is the conscious mind, and it is the best known parts of ourselves.  By this point, the baby needs not concentrate on every little thing.  The ruler is growing up enough to do some things automatically, without the need to be focused and directing them.

At this point, we learn enough of language to gain something powerful.  It is Definition.  Previously, things were difficult to order because all definitions were decided by the ruler, but upon learning language the messengers themselves can bring new definitions, new ways of separating and ordering the kingdom.  This causes two changes.  First, the ruler is forced to begin building walls to separate and differentiate.  These walls allow different places to be told apart from each other, and they provide some protection against a new type of messenger, the unwanted messenger.  These are the senses we do not want to experience, the ideas we do not want to hear.  They will try to get in if blocked, and thus a wall is put up around the city.

Now, towns begin to spring up.  The resources from the messengers continues to build up, and they are put to use with expansion.  Messengers themselves, and the offspring of others, begin moving to these towns outside the main city.  This is the birth of the functional mind.  It is also here that our story must become a bit more abstract.  You see, by this point the ruler is old enough to make choices.  As they are able to do so, they can dedicate resources as they wish, and the kingdoms of two people will be incredibly different.

So, what can we KNOW about all kingdoms.  Well... for most, they will have multiple towns with different skill specializations.  Many have massive fields which are dedicated to agriculture, or rather to imagination and artistry.  Many leave large areas of land uncultivated, and this land grows into forests, some dark and dangerous, others light and wonderful.  Roads are common, to aid the ruler's travel to other towns.  Eventually, the kingdom acquires so many resources that it becomes primarily urban; a complex of wisdom, but not of imagination.

I could go on about this model.  It lacks many details, and is not as general as I might like, but it is very useful for imagery.  It can make for a great wonderland if you need to explorer your own mind's working, and it can provide interesting method of explaining how different elements of the mind interact.

Now, let us apply this mental model to Hypnosis.  There are two elements to hypnosis we should focus on: trance and suggestion.  Trance usually works by drawing the ruler from their court, out onto the roads, and then getting them lost.  By taking them away from the towns and city, the hypnosis gives them a chance to build something new.  And in order to direct that new construction, it sends in messengers with certain types of resources and abilities.  These are the suggestions, which provide the lost and confused rules with tools to build themselves a new town.  If it is done well, the hypnosis will create a road (the triggers), to allow easy access to the town once it has been built.  If it does not provide such triggers, a repeated use might send the ruler off to build a near identical town elsewhere.

What can this model teach us about making hypnosis easier, though?  It shows us that we need to be willing to leave the city that is our expectations.  It is built by us, and it is part of who we are, but if we never leave its walls then we will never achieve anything NEW, except by accident.  It shows us that we must be willing to be distracted, to be willing to walk off the road into the unknown areas of our own minds.  And that we must be willing to be lead by our senses, to build new beliefs and experiences.  It is a metaphor, but it can give us advice too.

How about tulpa, you ask.  Well, lets see.  Tulpa need a few things.  They need a consciousness and they need a form.  So, they will need their own kingdom.  Now, as ruler, you can decide to bequeath part of your kingdom to another.  There, they can build their own city.  Sometimes you will switch and allow them to receive all the messengers.  Often, you will receive messengers from them, and vice versa, so that the two of you are in contact.

What is important is that you do NOT travel into their capital once you have built the fundamentals.  You may share the productivity of towns, but the capital is fundamentally theirs and to enter it would be to challenge their right to rule, to be a person separate from you.

Q&A4

How do I play one file and have the second file loop?

I've been hearing this question a LOT, so let me help you out.  The easiest way to to make a playlist.  Include one copy of the first file, and then put in the second file.  and then put the second file in again, as if it were a different song.  and again and again, you get the idea.  Include 40 and the loop will still be playing when you wake up.

[The below are reformatted from an IRC chat, hence the occasionally strange language.]
Recently I've been researching pony hypnosis and tuplas... And It looks pretty interesting. And you seem to be very experienced with these things... Which somewhat troubles me... Because... it's like you are lost in the void of your subconscious... One bay you won't be able to decipher reality from fantasy and go insane or some shit...  -Matt1546
Reality and fantasy have a few distinguishing marks.  Keeping those in mind is a key to maintaining sanity.  Going insane.... I've already done that a few different ways, by common definition.  Hasn't hurt me that much, but I appreciate your concern. I'm built to maintain myself regardless and to hard reset in the case of a full meltdown/ loss of power, so you needn't worry.

How exactly does one "set up" a hypnosis trigger, and how does it work? -Matt1546
It depends on the type of trigger, desired effects, and other variables.  But the basic function is this.  You practice the trigger and effect in congunction until your Subconscious accepts them as the same.  Pavlovian training of the self. That is the conscious method.
The unconscious method is to use hypnosis or suggestion to set the same thing up, but faster.

I know what a tulpa is... but how do you create one? And how does it work? Is it like a 2nd part of you that interacts with the world differently and has its own feelings and emotions? -Matt1546
Creating one is more individual than you might believe.  Common methods include creating a body construct and then talking to it until it starts responding, or building the mind itself in a simple body until it reaches consciousness and then working together to produce a body. Once you've finished, they are an 'imaginary' friend who is fully conscious that resides in your head.  You can interact with them in almost all the same ways as a human.. the one exception being that touch is difficult to fake.

To me, there are two major portions to creating any tulpa.  The body to house it, and the mind to inhabit that body. Yes, to the extent that it is a part of you.  Depending on whether you are more spiritually inclined or more psychologically inclined, you might have a different view of how much they are you and how much they are other.

Is it possible to "Accidentally" create a tulpa? If so, how? Also, can hypnosis create a tulpa?-Matt1546
It is possible to create them accidentally, but very few have that trouble. There are certain people who have chaotic enough mind that they can produce them accidentally.  But generally, 'accidentals' don't happen to people you haven't created more than one tulpa already.
As for hypnosis, I've seen files which are meant to help with creation, but the two are not so intermingled that one might accidentally cause the other.

What would happen if your hypnosis has an on trigger bbut no off trigger like the pony ones? -Matt1546
Assuming you were okay with the effects, it would trigger repeatedly and perhaps wear off over time. If you didn't like the effect, it wouldn't work at all. Point being, an effective trigger is one which you WANT to have work.  Having no off-trigger won't stop the on trigger from working.  However, if you were afraid of effects staying for a long period of time, then they would decay over time, or the on trigger would stop working. depends on how fearful you are.

But what about Tulpas? Do tulpas ever decay over time?-Matt1546
Tulpa don't go away very easily.  Fastest ways to get rid of one is to absorb it.  Or kill it, but tulpa.info will be all over anyone who kills a tulpa. They do decay, but only if you stop paying attention to them.  It takes a month or so for them to disappear was the last estimate I heard.
