Last night, I tested a file from Hypno-Files.com called 4hoursSleep. The idea of the file is that if put into a deep trance just previous to going to bed, then you will sleep more deeply and awake refreshed. Four hours of sleep promises an 8 hour rest, etc etc, lets talk about results.
First off, I decided to start this file at a time when I NEEDED both more sleep and more free time. THis pressure lead me to use the file in subpar conditions. While going to sleep, my roommate and a friend were holding a conversation in the same room, and the Television was running. This resulted in the audio being almost below understandable, but if this limited the effects I could not tell.
I also made one mistake, which I will not repeat the next time I use that file, of assuming I should add an Induction to the front of the 4hoursSleep file. As it turned out, the file is itself little more than a massive induction, and the addition of the two limited the latter's usefulness to an extent.
The result of the combination was to, after a 30 minutes period, drop my body to sleep while leaving my mind half-functional. I spent the next 40 minutes laying, unable to move, doing my best to keep my mind occupied until it could drift into sleep. I squared numbers (1-23,25-27), listened to the Television, and listened to my roommates conversation. My body was primarily senseless, but I eventually became uncomfortable from a rising internal temperature. Still, unable to move, I spent the time annoyed until eventually noticing the beginning of dreams and shoving myself into them.
What I learned? First, don't put an induction on a file that you don't know. Second, I'd go insane within hours of losing feeling in my body.
EDIT1:
I attempted to use the 4hourssleep file again the next day. It knocked me
out well enough (and fully, thank goodness), but I did not wake up after
four hours. Also, made the mistake of leaving the track on loop overnight, which probably made my sleep worse. Still, I very well rested.... after 8 hours of sleep.
